Welcome!

Our communities are built on care, fairness and respect. When those values are challenged, we show up for one another and for the kind of Gloucestershire we believe in.

Gloucestershire Gathers in Solidarity – 5 minute film

On 5th October 2025, a group calling itself Patriots of Gloucestershire met in the heart of the city to protest against Gloucester housing asylum seekers. A community-counter protest gathered to meet them, organised by the newly formed Gloucestershire Solidarity Network.

This film features footage from the event and some interviews. This includes footage of the Patriots of Gloucestershire – please see content warning below.

Content Warning: This video unfortunately includes footage of a member of ยดPatriots of Gloucestershireโ€™ using a discriminatory and deeply harmful slur against disabled people. GSN strongly condemns this language and stands united with disabled people against ignorance and bigotry. This occurs at 2:12-2:14 for those who wish not to hear it used. The footage remains included to highlight the true nature of the so-called โ€˜patriotsโ€™. There are many disabled people within our community, refugees or not, and this language serves to divide us further. This is not only about refugees but all groups affected by oppression and discrimination. We are proud to have disabled people in our ranks. Shared values. Shared hope.
