On 22nd August we rallied to oppose a protest by the far-right “Patriots of Gloucestershire”, who had invited the leader of UKIP – Nick Tenconi – to join them. Not heard of him? Learn who Nick Tenconi is and why we didn’t want to allow him to appear in Gloucestershire unchallenged.
This post collects videos and links to media coverage of our event. We’ll add more videos and photos ASAP. For now, you’ll find below one 3 minute summary video and footage of two speeches:

A Barnwood resident spoke at our “Together Against the Far-Right” rally
He spoke about the difference between Patriotism and Nationalism, and about the incompatibility of Nationalism with Biblical Christianity. He also mentions experiences with people who lived in the Ibis hotel while their asylum claims were being processed.
A local trade unionist spoke at our rally
She spoke about how difficult work and life are for the people she sees in workplaces in Gloucestershire at the moment – and why we need to look upwards not sideways for people to blame.
